Scanning Slides

PF3600 Pro

The Pacific Images PF3600 Pro slide scanner will work in Windows 10. The VueScan driver probably works (it successfully scanned a watermarked preview image), but they want $150 for the Pro version to enable film scanners.

The latest version (1.20) from the vendor site does not work properly. The stand-alone version of the tool will scan an all-white, all-black or severely contrasted preview image. The only way it has worked so far is to use the “Cyberview 35 v.174 1.5 (32-32)” TWAIN driver with Irfanview (32-bit) or other graphics package. The interface is scaled poorly but it works. It is unknow whether the “Cyberview 35” driver was installed with v1.20 of the vendor package, or was leftover from a pre-existing install.

It is also possible that the Vuescan driver which loads in Device Manager is interfering with the vendor scan tool.
